Electronic Cottage

Just found out that "Fontana Groove" from my record with Tom Furgas (re: Visions) got airplay on Jerry Kranitz' Electronic Cottage show!

"Fontana Groove" was created, partly, by applying concepts from John Cage's "Fontana Mix" to the overall electronic music picture Furgas presented to me.

E-ssential Sounds #3

New episode of my podcast is up - this time featuring yours truly! This is the first in a short series of episodes that will address different aspects of my own music. In this episode I discuss my development as a solo acoustic guitarist through both composition and improvisation. The musical examples I share are culled from work tapes and current recordings spanning twenty years and detail different elements of my growth as a guitarist and musician.

Drop in, tune in and turn on!

Vermis Sympatico

I received this VERY FLATTERING e-mail the other day from an absolutely terrific musician who got a copy of Vermis from me about three years ago (posted here with his permission):

Hi Eric.
Your Vermis record is a favorite going on three years now, and I recognized ghosts of your sounds in a new half-tune I made. If you are interested, you can hear it at http://www.zebox.com/chrissh/ or http://www.myspace.com/chrissh. It is called "Por Lamor". Of course, I don't mean to implicate you in anything you might not be crazy about, but I'd like to recognize credit where it's due. I hope you are well.
Chris S.

I wanted to get this up here so you would click on the links and check out his incredible stuff (great art too)! This is what it's all about.
