A Year of Living Musically

This is David Strackany (aka PALEO), the guy who got me fired up about recording a song a day for year. Not only am I down with his dedication to his art but I really love his stuff:

Five days into the song journal and this is already the most difficult, hair-brained thing I've ever attempted. 361 songs to go! This is gonna kick my ass

Just found out that iTunes has picked up my song journal so folks can subscribe there if they want. Just fire up (or download it first) i-Tunes, go to i-Tunes Store, click on "Podcasts", go to "Power Search" and type "bhagiti" in the box that says "artist".

Well, here we go - I've begun my Herculean song journal project - that's a song a day for 365 days! First post begins today:

Song Diary

After listening to an NPR story on musicians who create "song diaries" I followed a link to David Andrew Strackany (aka PALEO)'s site (HERE). Strackany recorded a song every day for 365 days while on tour. The songs reveal a deep, personalized mythology and symbolic quirkiness that I like as much as the whispery intamacy of his vocals and the lo-fi "audio verite" of the recordings. The link above takes you to the page where you can read the lyrics and listen to every one of the 365 songs.

I'm fascinated by this & am considering trying it for myself. Tough discipline to do it everyday!! If I try it I'll post the link to the diary page here.
